Motor Homes Campers

In these days when money is tight – Why pay to have your car standing outside your house unused?

Do you jump in the car to go to the post office when you could walk?

Do you keep saying to your self: “I must take more exercise but I just don’t have the time?”

Maybe you put the dogs in the car so that you can drive them to a place where you can walk them.

You don’t think that you drive your car unnecessarily but still you clock up 12,000 miles a year.
How much of that is un-necessary poodling about that you should be doing on foot?

You have to keep your car street legal even when it’s on your driveway. Serviced, MOT’d, taxed, insured and so. Can you afford to do that anymore?

Could your ever really afford to do that or is it just force of habit that allows you to think that you must have a car outside or your quality of life will be damaged beyond what you are prepared to put up with?

Well maybe it’s time to take stock

Just take fuel cost alone.

12,000 miles a year against perhaps 3,000 if you just rented say 4 times a year.

What does petrol cost now £5.00 £6.00 a gallon or more? It can only keep on going up.

Just calculate the saving on fuel cost alone: 9000 miles divided by 40 MPG times £6.00 per Gallon is 1350 Pounds. Hey, I just made up those figures as an example so do you own sums and I bet you’ll be surprised.

What about car insurance? How much do you pay? £800 a year or something like that I’ll bet. What ever “you” pay then that all savings if you rent whatever you need and whenever you need to. You have to be insured just to keep a car on your own driveway these days.

Maintenance, the cost of that is anyone’s guess and yes you can do a lot yourself but you still need tyres, MOT and so on. It all adds up.

Fitness

You’ve probably been telling yourself for years that it’s time to take more exercise and you could walk to many of the places whereas you just drive.

Well take away the excuse, by just having that car outside I can hear you saying…It’s raining, it’s cold, it’s too hot, it’s just quicker, it’s easier YES… too easy.

The Convenience

Ok now you’ve got me on that one, because there is no way that renting a car can be AS convenient as just picking up the keys and driving off.

If you want that convenience and no matter at what cost then there is no way that I will persuade you different… and why would I want to?

No skin off of my nose.

I’m not trying to sell you anything.

I am just saying that there is another way and a lot of people tell me, especially the older or wiser amongst us or those who maybe don’t have so much money to burn or who don’t feel the need to be gallivanting around the place for whatever reason. They say “We cannot afford to keep that thing
stood outside on the driveway for much longer. What with the cost of fuel these days it’s a luxury that we cannot afford!”

Car Rental Delivery – Car Insurance Policy Excess Charges

All I am saying is that, no matter how you stack up the numbers it has to make sense to consider renting a car when you need one.

Maybe you’ll want to shift a wardrobe or something and then you just rent a van that time.

You could get a little cheap car or a bigger more expensive saloon when you feel the need.

I was surfing online the other day and I saw a company that can insure you against those damage excess fees that car hire company’s often charge.

You know, you put it in a supermarket car park and come back to find someone has bashed your car and just driven off.

Brilliant, that’s just cost you a hundred quid (if you are lucky) and it’s only 100 because you already paid the voluntary excess waiver cover or it could have been 800 Quid.

Well what I am saying is that, when you might be renting say 4 times a year, instead of asking for the excess damage waiver insurance to cover you in the event of some other Burk damaging your vehicle you can get a third party separate annual cover for about £40.00 a year!

Now call me stupid, but that seems like a good deal to me AND you could then pay the 20.00 Pounds and have the rental car delivered right to door and collected again.

You get to rent and driver a brand new car when you need it, no servicing, no insurance, no Tax, no MOT’s, no lying on your back underneath the thing, no back breaking bending over the engine and all of those really fun things that you do and have always done.

Just so that your own car is outside when you need it.

How convenient is that?

How convenient is that?
